• Expression of Interest are invited for Mobilize Competent Experts/Researchers to Support the Ongoing Research and Development Activities in a Diverse Field of Water, Irrigation and Energy Sectors The main thematic areas and indicative research priority areas for the next two years are provided below: Integrated Water Resource and Watershed Management: * Flood/Drought Management Risk Assessment Water Quality, Water Pollu tion, Integrated Basin Development Planning/Watershed Management, etc. Dam and Hydropower: * Sedimentation, Dam Operation and Safety Management, Reservoir Opera tion Rules, Dam Break Analysis, Promotion of Hydropower Development and Power Plant Efficiency, Design Guidelines Development etc. Irrigation and Drainage: * Construction Project Management, Irrigation water management, irrigation Water Efficiency, Canals Design, Irrigation Water Quality, Soil salinity management, etc. Energy Challenges in the energy sector, promoting rural electrification, alternative energy, energy efficiency, energy saving, energy development and its socio economic & environmental impacts, etc. Water Supply and Sanitation: * Urban water supply & sanitation, promoting rural water supply & sanita tion, pastoral areas water supply & sanitation, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), etc. Hydro-Meteorological Studies: * Hydro-meteorological measuring networks, hydro-metrological data quality, river basin water budget, water balance, river basin modeling, etc. . Cross-sectorial Research: * Water Hyacinth, Water right, transboundary issues, climate change impact assessment, climate change adaptation, Socio-economic aspect and RAP of community around large water projects, etc. Experience Level & Categories 5 years assistant researcher 5-10 years associate researcher 10-15 years researcher 15+ years senior researcher minimum required qualifications given the diverse technical nature of the research projects, the r&d directorate of the mowie is looking for consultants of varying ability above the minimum threshold stated below: academic/professional qualification - advanced university degree in civil engineering, water resources engineering, hydropower engineering, water resources management, electromechanical, irrigation & hydraulics engineering, construction management, earth sciences, hydrology, watershed management, energy studies, climate change, environment, law, socioeconomics, international relation, social sciences/natural sciences/engineering with water and energy related researches, etc.; relevant professional experience corresponding to the research categories as stated above. professional experience in areas with direct exposure to water project related research activities will be considered relevant; for assistant researchers, excellent academic performance with gpa 3.50 & above in the bsc and msc degrees. thesis topic and work experience should be water related in the above fields; knowledge of research methodology, good data analysis and report writing skill is mandatory applicants to this call for interest will undergo a first level screening and those candidates meeting the minimum requirements will be included in r&d directorate's research consultants roster. shortlisted consultants in the database will be communicated and undergo in-depth assessment in order to take part in consultancy services and joint research projects relevant to their areas of specialization and interest. the remuneration will be commensurate with candidate's qualifications, experience and skills as well as the complexities of the research project and the degree of specialization required
