Expression of Interest are invited for Technical Advisory Support for Operational Flood Early Warning Systems in 3 Priority Basins in Ethiopia. · Issue Date and Time: Dec 18,2023 13:08 · Closing Date and Time: Jan 04,2024 23:59 The Objective of this Assignment is to Support the Government of Ethiopia by Proving Guidance on the Design of Operational Flood Early Warning Systems in Three Priority Basins. The System or Systems could Address a Range of Flood Typologies; Including Flash Floods and Riverine Floods. The Assignment should Also Seek to Balance the Potential for Commonality in Early Warning Systems; To Promote Efficiencies; While Recognizing Basin Conditions and Institutional Arrangements. The Specific Objectives are to:* Review the Current Status of Flood Early Warning Systems in Ethiopia and Identify the Key Gaps. * Identify the Needs (Technical; Institutional) to Develop and/or Improve Operational Flood Early Warning Systems in Ethiopia.* Present Options on the Institutional and Technical Form of Impact-Based Flood Early Warning Systems for Ethiopia; Along with a Review of Their Advantages and Disadvantages; Giving Consideration to the Particular Context in Ethiopia and Three Priority Basins. * Provide Recommendations on a Suitable Form or Architecture of Impact-Based Flood Early Warning Systems in Three Priority Basins; Along with an Implementation Plan on How to Realize These Systems Operationally. The Wbg Reserves the Right to Publicly Disclose Contract Award Information, including but not Limited to, Name of Company Receiving the Award, Brief Description of Services, and Contract Award Amount, for Any Contract Award Valued over Us$250,000.
